Marié à une institutrice française, Aroun, burkinabé, est mécanicien dans un garage Renault de la région parisienne. Technicien qualifié, bien intégré, il rêve cependant de repartir aider au développement de son pays. Une occasion s’offre à lui, Renault cherche un responsable pour son atelier de Bamako, il postule contre l’avis de sa femme. Un autre est finalement choisi. Déçu, il préfère démissionner et part monter son propre garage à Ouaga. Sa femme refuse de le suivre.

Married to a French teacher, Aroun, Burkina Faso, is a mechanic in a Renault garage in the Paris region. A skilled technician and well integrated, he dreams, however, to return and help in the development of his country. When Renault seeks a manager for its workshop in Bamako and the opportunity is offered to him, he postulates against the advice of his wife. Another person is finally chosen. Disappointed, he prefers to step down and set up his own garage in Ouaga. His wife refuses to follow him
