un jeune étudiant se déplace sur une île pas loin d'Amsterdam pour rencontrer le célèbre sculpteur qui vit dans un pittoresque moulin avec sa fille atteinte d’une maladie incurable, dont le jeune tombe éperdument amoureux

A Dutch sculptor lives with his sick daughter in a windmill. Several strange events occur: young girls disappear and people talk of having seen automatons. A mad doctor is carrying out experiments using the blood of young girls to find a serum that will save Wahl's daughter.
