LE PAYSAGE INTERIEUR
Tourné entre 2007 et 2010, Le Paysage Intérieur suit pas à pas la grande aventure collective que fut la construction par l'EPFL du Rolex Learning Center, la "bibliothèque du futur". Ce bâtiment en forme d'immense vague est certes sorti de l'imagination des architectes japonais Kazuyo Sejima et Ryue Nishizawa, de l'agence SANAA, mais sa très complexe réalisation nécessite le concours d'une armée d'architectes, d'ingénieurs, d'ouvriers, sans oublier les professeurs, les chercheurs, les bibliothécaires et les étudiants, bref tous les usagers inquiets à l'idée de devoir s'installer dans un immense espace ouvert, un paysage intérieur fait de collines et de vallons.
The Interior Landscape, filmed between 2007 and 2010, follow step-by-step the great collective adventure involved in the construction - by the EPFL - of the Rolex Learning Center. Situated on the campus of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale in Lausanne, it is dubbed the "Library of the Future". This immense building in the form of a large wave came out of the imagination of the Japanese architects, Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa, founders of the SANAA architectural firm. Its complex realisation required the participation of an army of architects, engineers and workmen, professors, researchers, librarians and students...a large open interior landscape made of hills and valleys in space.
