Le Rugby Club de Toulon n’est pas un club comme les autres. Ce club mytique a longtemps accueilli des joueurs qui firent la gloire du rugby français : Daniel Herrero, Gilbert Doucet, Jérôme Gallion, Jérôme Bianchi… Toulon pourtant a bien failli disparaître dans les profondeurs du classement.
Et si ses supporters sont en train de vivre sa renaissance, c’est notamment grâce à la personnalité de son président, Mourad Boudjellal, un patron…pas comme les autres. Ce magnat de la bande dessinée a payé les meilleurs internationaux avec pour mission de ramener le club en haut du classement. Ses méthodes, que certains désignent non sans dédain comme celles du « rugby pognon », laissent augurer, en cette fin de saison, une remontée vers le prestigieux Top 14. C’est en cette période, pleine de promesses, que ce film dresse le portrait de Mourad Boudjellal. Alors chantre du libéralisme ou sauveteur de son club ?
The Rugby Club of Toulon is not a club like the others. Toulon nevertheless very nearly disappeared in the depths of the ranking. And if its supporters are experiencing its rebirth, it is due to the personality of its president, Mourad Boudjellal, a boss... not like the others. This comic book mogul paid the best internationals with the mission of bringing the club back to the top of the standings.
