De Palerme à Syracuse, la Princesse Carine DI GANGI nous introduit dans l’intimité des grandes familles siciliennes et nous fait découvrir les plus beaux palais de Sicile.
Ce tour de l’île commence, dans la capitale à Palerme, par le Palais Gangi, véritable « Versailles sicilien » où valsèrent Claudia CARDINALE et Burt LANCASTER lors du tournage du film « Le Guépard » de Lucchino VISCONTI.
Il se poursuit chez la Princesse RAFFADALI, dans son Palais du XVème siècle, et chez le Comte TASCA, dans les salons en trompe-l’œil de la magnifique Villa Camastra Tasca.
Laissant Palerme, nous sommes accueillis par le Baron INGLESE dans le mystérieux Monastère « Santa Maria del Bosco » : austère bâtiment dressé dans un écrin de montagnes brumeuses.
C’est dans le Château « moyenâgeux » de « Falconara » que le Baron et la Baronne CHIARAMONTE BORDONARO, nous reçoivent dans un lieu empreint de magie, cerné par l’étendue bleue de la Méditerranée à l’extrême sud de la Sicile.
Poursuivant vers Syracuse, nous découvrons la magnificence des villes baroques de Noto et de Ragusa reconstruites après le tremblement de terre de 1693 et classées au Patrimoine Mondial de l’UNESCO.
C’est par la cité Grecque de Syracuse, miroir de Palerme la Phénicienne, que se clôt au cœur du Palais Beneventano del Bosco, en compagnie du comte BENEVENTANO ce fabuleux voyage au cœur de la Sicile secrète et fastueuse !
From Palermo to Syracuse, Princess Carine DI GANGI takes us on a tour of the most beautiful palaces of the island, and gives us a glimpse into the lives of the great Sicilian families.
Our tour of the Island starts in the capital, with the Gangi Palace, referred to as the « Versailles » of Sicily. It was here that Claudia CARDINALE and Burt LANCASTER danced a waltz during the shooting of Lucchino VISCONTI’s « The Leopard ».
Next, we meet with Princess RAFFADALI I in her 15th century palace, followed by a visit to the residence of the Count TASCA, the magnificent Villa Camastra, with its rooms full of optical illusions.
Leaving Palermo, we drive on to meet with Baron INGLESE at the mysterious Monastery « Santa Maria del Bosco », an austere building framed by the foggy mountains.
On the Southernmost tip of Sicily, the Baron and Baroness CHARAMONTE BORDONARO welcome us to their home, a medieval castle with a magical air, encircled by the blue expanse of the Mediterranean Sea.Continuing towards Syracuse, we discover the magnificent baroque towns of Noto and Ragusa, rebuilt after the earthquake in 1693, the two were then classified as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Now we come to the end of this fabulous tour of the sumptuous and secretive inner world of Sicily.
As we started in the Phoenician city of Palermo, where better to finish our tour than in the Greek city of Syracuse, at the Beneventano del Bosco Palace, in the charming company of the count BENEVENTANO.
