Paul KLEE, who defines himself as a “poet/painter, ”rivals the most prolific creators.
His thoughts on art evoke those of Leonardo da Vinci in their scope.

A short trip to Tunisia in 1914 is an extraordinary experience for him.
The colorful architecture and the dazzling light of this Mediterranean country will push him to become a painter, and he will try to unite painting and music in his works.

He begins studying painting in Munich, and then travels to Italy where he falls under the spell of the Italian Renaissance and the masters of the Quattrocento.

In 1911, he joins the group of painters from the Blaue Reiter(the Blue Rider) and becomes friends with Kandinsky.

Later he will meet Robert Delaunay, and will discover the works of Picasso, Braque and Rousseau.

Paul Klee anticipates the Surrealists with his taste for visions and dreams, as well as Abstract art with his musical backgrounds that are only splashes of color and the suggestion of melody.

For him paintings should be something organic, like any plant or animal.

His works are displayed in the Paul Klee Center in Bern, Switzerland, and in German museums like the Folkwang Museum or the Ludwig Museum in Cologne.

You can also see his works in the museums of NewYork and Paris
