On the Haida Gwaii Archipelago (aka The Queen Charlotte Islands, British Columbia) the introduction of deer at the end of the 19th century has had unforeseen consequences that teach us a lot on the ecology of forests. About 10 years ago, Jean-Louis Martin, a scientist at CNRS, did find, in the south of the archipelago, a group of small islands that were like a natural laboratory.  The film crew follows the scientists from island to island in their quest and findings.  It also meets with those who live on the islands and documents the way they perceive the changes that occur within their forests.
